Google Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash Generally Available, Supports 15-Second Videos

Posted As of

Google announced that Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash is now generally available on the Gemini API, Google Cloud and more. It supports 15-second video generation and multi-turn editing, and the 720p price is $0.07 per second (official).

What happened

  • The content is based on announcements from the Google blog and the Google Cloud blog. The date is based on Google's X post and press reports, as no date was visible on the blog pages.
  • Google explains that this model offers native 15-second video generation, improved reference image reflection, and conversational multi-turn editing.
  • It is generally available on the Gemini API and Gemini Enterprise, and the Google Cloud post separately states it is also generally available on Google Cloud.
  • The price for 720p video is $0.07 per second (official), which is 30% (official) cheaper than Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash. Prices for other resolutions have not been disclosed.
  • It can also be used in Flow (rolling out sequentially), Google Vids, and the Gemini app, and 15-second clips are open to Ultra subscribers.
  • The information that the previous limit was 10 seconds came from Jetstream reporting, not from Google.

Our take

Because it is a cloud service, it cannot be run directly on a local PC or Mac, and open weights have not been released. With no independent benchmarks, quality relies solely on Google's description. The price for 1080p 15-second video has also not been confirmed. invideo's mention of 1080p 15-second support is only a partner statement, not an official specification sheet. Google acknowledged that fast sports motion and complex physics expression are still under development.
